Y=2 steps per day
So In 7 days he reach 7 steps on the 8th day he will reach 10 steps by moving forward since he reached 10 steps he won’t step back. So 8 days for 10 that is z staircases.

If x>z you will climb in 1 day and on last day you will climb X stairs but before that he has to climb z-x stairs so therefore total no of days that is z staircases is (z-x)/(x-y)+1
