Browse internal hard drive

I have a Seagate skyhawk 2T internal hard drive that is full. I need to be able to access it from my laptop. I have it connected to an inateck dual bay hard drive docking station. It appears to be connected but I can not figure out how to access the drive and files.

      Sorry, it is inserted in bay A and it shows in devices as being connected but when trying to view what’s on it, I can not find it. Through “This Computer” I’m trying to browse it as of it is a flash drive. Or whatever they call them these days.

      I suppose, The issue is that your PC is unable to identify the newly connected Hard Disk. The problem is common among people who have a 2nd Hard Drive connected to their device. Here are some possible ways by which you can fix this issue:

      1. Run The Troubleshooter: There are chances that Windows Troubleshooter can help you solve your issue. Unfortunately, After the new Windows updates, the trouble shoot option for Hardware And Devices has been removed from Settings. Press Windows Key + R to open up Run command and type in the following command to launch the troubleshooter: 
        msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

        Run the troubleshooter and check if it could fix your issue.

      2. Device Manager: Go to Settings >Search “Device Manager” and press Enter. Expand Disk Drivers and check whether your 2nd hard disk is showing up. If so, Right click the disk and choose “Update Driver”. If that didn’t worked, Choose “Uninstall Device” and reconnect the disk.
      3. Disk Management: Press Window Key > Type in “Disk Management” and press Enter.  Click on “Create and format Hard disk partitions” Look for a drive that has an unallocated partition (It’s marked by a black line along the top).  Right-click on the drive and select “new simple volume”.  Follow the steps and format the drive using NTFS.

      If these methods still didn’t worked for you, Then your best option would be to post the problem in Microsoft forum or try contacting your Hard Disk Manufacturer’s Customer Support.
