What is shares outstanding vs float? What is the meaning of shares outstanding? And what does public float mean. Can someone tell me the comparison between outstanding shares and public float shares?

Let us cover the difference between outstanding shares and float.
Shares Outstanding – Shares Outstanding are the shares of a corporation that are issued and are purchased and held by share holders including share blocks held by institutional investors and restricted shares owned by the officers and insiders.
Public float – Public Float are shares which are issued by a company and are available for sale and purchase by the general public.
Shares Outstanding can be issued by a public as well as a private company whereas Public float can be issued only by public company.
Shares outstanding includes Float shares.
Float shares can be traded only through stock exchange whereas Shares outstanding can be traded through stock exchange as well as secondary market.
Shares outstanding may include giving ownership and voting rights to the investors but Public Float does not give any voting or ownership rights to the shareholders.
Shares Outstanding = Issued Shares – treasury shares
Here, I have covered only the basics of these shares.
Thank you.
