What is the future of automation ?

What do you guys think, with the coming of AI and machine learning, future of automation holds for us.

Will there be a certain reduction in human workforce as machines take over ?

      AUTOMATION in simple words is labor-saving technology.

      Basically, this needs less human assistance. Automation replaces human work load with various control systems for operating equipment and machinery. Automation has been achieved by various means including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic devices and computers, usually in combination. Complicated systems, such as modern factories, airplanes and ships typically use all these combined techniques. The benefit of automation includes labor savings, savings in electricity costs, savings in material costs, and improvements to quality, accuracy, and precision.

      As above it is clearly stated by Dr. Kai-fu Lee that AI is going to create a huge change in this world.

      Artificial Intelligence has been a great impact on technology as well as on humans. AI has a very vital role in future of virtually every industries and machineries.

      Some sectors have started their AI journey while some are veteran travelers. And we can’t ignore how much impact AI has on our present lives.

       

      Here I will list down 6 sectors where AI has it’s most impact:

      1. TRANSPORTATION: It may take a decade or so but one day definitely we will be travelling with the help of autonomous cars.
      2. MANUFACTURING: AI powered robots work alongside humans to perform a limited range of tasks like assembly and stacking, and predictive analysis sensors keep equipment running smoothly.
      3. HEALTHCARE: In the comparatively AI-nascent field of healthcare, diseases are more quickly and accurately diagnosed, drug discovery is sped up and many big data analyses helps to create a more personalized patient experience.
      4. EDUCATION: Textbooks are digitized with the help of AI, early-stage virtual tutors assist human instructors and facial analysis gauges the emotions of students.
      5. MEDIA: Journalism is harnessing AI, too, and will continue to benefit from it.
      6. CUSTOMER SERVICES: Last but hardly least, Google is working on an AI assistant that can place human-like calls to make appointments at, say, your neighborhood hair salon. In addition to

      words, the system understands context and nuance.

       

      And the more quantitative, the more objective the job is separating things into bins, washing dishes, picking fruits and answering customer service call those are very much scripted tasks that are repetitive and routine in nature. In the matter of five, 10 or 15 years, they will be displaced by AI.

      Concluding that AI and Automation will heavily have an impact on human. If in future we don’t know coding and programming then this will create a very big problem for us. But it clearly depends on us how we use it either Helpful or Homicidal.

      Every technology has both pros and cons and it merely depend on human how they use.

      AI or AUTOMATION can be either a Boon or Bane for us.
