Yes Even after archiving a contact, we still got messages from that archived contact But no notification from such archived contacts We can see archived message only when we open our WhatsApp chat
Go to end of your chat list At the end u will see number of archived contacts Go to archived contacts and select particular chat that you want to Unarchive Click on unarchive symbol that you will found on top right corner
