Ask following questions to yourself and decide if your organization needs DBMS or not…
1) Is your information access timely?
Is your information scattered and hard to correlate?
Does it often require a special program and several man months to solve a one time inquiry because data is spread over several files?
2) Do you have credibility gaps in your reports?
Is your information Inconsistently or incorrectly updated?
3) Is it possible to control who has access to your data?
4) If you already have a computerized data management system, do you have high programming support costs?
Are your programs and data not only complex but dependent on each other for meaning?
Is it awkward (if not impossible) to modify your data organization when your needs Change?
If answers to any of above question is yes, you need new DBMS for your organization.
