   If you are using the Lync 2013 client and need to force it to download the address book, you can follow these steps:

   1. Open the Lync 2013 client and click on the gear icon in the top right corner to open the options menu.
   2. Click on the “File” tab and then click on the “Options” button.
   3. In the left-hand menu, click on “Personal“.
   4. Scroll down to the “Automatic configuration” section and click on the “Configure” button.
   5. In the “Advanced Connection Settings” window, check the box next to “Manually configure server settings” and enter the URL of the Lync server in the “Internal server name or IP address” field.
   6. Click on the “Next” button and then click on the “Finish” button.
   7. Close the Lync client and open it again.

   

   1. In the Lync client, click on the gear icon in the top right corner to open the options menu.
   2. Click on the “File” tab and then click on the “Exit” button to completely close the Lync client.

   3. Open the Lync client again and it should now download the address book.
