No the verified users don’t get paid. What really is verification? I’ll explain you with a example. Let’s assume there is a person Mr ‘A’. ‘A’ is a very popular celebrity. So, it’s very common that his fans, his followers will make fan accounts or a account with Mr A’s name. So there will be many accounts set up with a single name. How does a common user distinguish that among all these which is the real account? For this very reason popular person gets their account verified so their account stands out and people really know if the contents posted by account is from right person or not.
