   How long does it take to become a software engineer. The answer would be approximately 2 years after your graduation education.

   I mention two years, it would take to become a software engineer, because for any graduation if you are selected in a on campus interview, right from there you will become a software engineer by profession. But actually to be called as a software professional you have to have minimum 2 years of experience. See steps to become a software engineer.

   What if you didn’t get selected in a campus interview: 

   • Here in this case you need to choose any programming language platform or programming skills like Android app development, python programming,java,.net framework etc to develop various applications.
   • This would eventually take one year.
   • After course completion, you’ll start look for the job opportunities and you start attending interviews.
   • So my approx estimation for you to become a software engineer would be probably 2 years ( this is an average only).
