Clearing your internet browser’s cache and cookies is one of the most effective troubleshooting steps to resolve slow web page loading speeds, layout rendering errors, outdated form data, and persistent login issues. Web browsers automatically download images, scripts, and tracking files to speed up repeat website visits. However, over time these temporary cached data files can corrupt or clog local storage, creating privacy risks and sluggish performance.
How to Clear Cache in Google Chrome (Desktop & Mobile)
To clear web data in Google Chrome on Windows or Mac, open Chrome and press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Delete (or Command + Option + E on Mac). Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then click Delete data. On mobile devices (iOS/Android), open Chrome settings, tap Privacy and Security, select Clear Browsing Data, and confirm your selection.
