How to Fix GTA IV Fatal Error While Running The Game?

I recently installed GTA 4 and when I tried to run the game, It’s showing an error window:

      There are many reported problems while trying to run Grand Theft Auto IV and one of these problems is: GTA IV Fatal Error. This error can be due to many reasons like: Compatibility issues, Corrupted files, Bad download, Missing files or can be even due to outdated drivers. Here are some ways by which you can fix this issue. Make sure you’ve tried all these methods since the last method is proven more effective : )

      1. Compatibility Issue: Go to your GTA IV directory and right click LaunchGTAIV.exe and choose the compatibility mode as Windows 8. Do the same with GTAIV.exe. If you’re on Windows 7 or older versions, try different compatibility options and check if the game works for each configurations.
      2. Try Updating Your Drivers: Go to Driver Manager and check if all drivers are up to date. For ease, Install Driver Booster from the official website and check if updates are available for your device drivers.
      3. Gaming Components: Check whether all the necessary gaming components like DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributable Editions ( All Versions ) are installed in your device by visiting Programs and Features in Control Panel.
      4. Reinstalling The Game: Try reinstalling your game again from the setup file. There could be chances of losing some files accidentally or files getting corrupted while installing.
      5. Patch Fix: If the above methods didn’t helped then this could be the solution. Install this rar file into your device and extract it. After extraction, Copy all the three files into your GTA IV root directory. It may ask you to replace the existing files, Select Yes. Now try method 1 ( Compatibility Issue ) again and run the game.

      If these methods didn’t worked for you, then either your device is not compatible to run the game or maybe the setup could be corrupted. If you’ve installed a highly compressed version of the game, Then there are very high chances that it may contain corrupted files.
