The easy way of solving the problem is. Let 2x+5y=20 be the equation 1
3x+6y=12 be the equation 2
from equation 1—-—2x+5y=20
2x=20-5y
x=(20-5y)/2. as equation 3
substitute equation 3 in 2
3[(20-5y)/2] +6y=. 12
multiply the equation with 2
3[20-5y] +12y=24
60-15y + 12y =24
60-3y=24
-3y = 24-60
-3y = -36
y = 36/3 ;y =12
substitute y= 12 inequation 1
2x+5(12)=20
2x =20-60
2x=-40 ; x=-40/2 ; x=-20
x=-20 and y= 12
