How to apply 2-factor authentication on the Instagram account?

From the past few days, some strange activities are happening to my account. I doubt that my Instagram account might be hacked.

So, to ensure the safety of my Instagram account, I want to apply 2-factor authentication. Could you please tell me the steps that I need to follow to apply 2-factor authentication on Instagram?

      Here are the simple steps to activate Two-factor authentication in Instagram account:

      1. Open your Instagram app on your Mobile
      2. Click on your profile
      3. Then on the right top corner open the menu
      4. Go to settings 
      5. Click on  Security and Tap on Two Factor authentication 
      6. Get started with it, then you will get 2 options
        1. Text Message– Through this, you will get a code number message to your phone which was linked with your account
        2. Authentication App –  this will be down through the Google authentication app
      7. After completion of the above process, you will get Recovery codes. Take a screenshot of that, it will be use full if you lost your phone.

      Note: My suggestion is to use the Text message verification method

      By this Two factor Authentication is activated in your Instagram account.

      Using Instagram with 2 factor authentication is really good practice. The following are the uses of using two factor authentication on Instagram for any other application.

      Uses of 2 factor authentication: 

      1. With this feature, your account will be safe from hackers/any type of misusage. At the time of login, you will be asked to enter the login code.
      2. So, without the login code, your account will not be accessed In case your phone is lost, with the help of recovery codes you can access your account.
