c drive full windows 10 how to clean

I don’t know why my laptop c drive is getting filled automatically. c drive full how to clean, This is on my windows 10 OS. How can I clean up my computer c drive which is filling automatically without installing any softwares.

What would be the reason for my c drive or c disc getting filled up? C-Drive is showing up in red color.

      Many users experience the issue – C Drive becoming full, Mostly after a windows update or when you’ve a lot of programs installed. This problem can lead to other issues like software crashes, lagging user interface since, Windows needs a lot of free space in C Drive. This issue can also be fixed in many ways. I’ve mentioned some of the most effective ways below. If you would like to know about the reasons for this issue, It can be due to: Previous Windows data and files, A lot of temporary files, A lot of programs installed, frequent app updates, Viruses or malwares.

      • Press Windows Key+R to open up Run command. Type in these 3 commands mentioned below one after the other and hit Enter. Once these paths load up, Delete everything in it ( Use the shortcut key: Control+A to select everything and Shift+Delete to delete those unwanted files permenantly ).

      Commands: prefetch, temp, %temp%

      If you have multiple user accounts in your Windows 10 PC, Make sure you log in to these accounts and try this from all your accounts.

      • Try Performing A Full System Scan: There are many users who has reported that some virus or malware attacks can result in taking a lot of disk space. So, I’d recommend you to update your virus definitions and security updates and then, Perform a full system scan.
      • Recycle Bin: There can be a lot of situations where you could have deleted a lot of files but forgot to empty those from recycle bin. Check once again, If you’ve made the same mistake.
      • Treesize: With this software you can get an idea about where all your disk space has gone. Once you’ve installed this software, You can know which directory or folder uses the most space. If you think there are many unwanted files which are taking a lot of space, You can delete those.
      • PatchCleaner: This tool scans your disk completely and will help you freeup a lot of space just under a click. Use this tool to remove all those unwanted datas.
      • Disk Cleanup and Disk Optimization: These are two powerful tools that comes free with Windows Installation. You can find these tools by just searching them on search bar. With Disk Cleanup you can get rid of many unwanted files and datas that are of no use, The tool does this automatically with just a click. To open Disk Optimization, Search for “Defragment And Optimize Drives”. With this tool you can optimize your drives and could help you free up some space too.
      • Uninstall Unwanted Programs: If your PC has lot of programs installed, Try uninstalling the ones you think you no longer need. You can do this by searching “Add or remove programs” in the search bar.
