I want to add highlights on Instagram but I don’t want to add it to my Instagram story. So how can I add highlights on instagram without adding them to stories? If there is a way to add highlights on instagram without having to story please explain.

You can use two methods to add highlights on instagram without posting them as story. but if you observe to add highlights on Instagram we need to first post it on story.
In few cases we don’t want all of our followers to view our story, hence this situation occurs that we don’t want this highlight to be displayed for them as a story.
We Will see the first method : when you for posting a story if you see the story settings on Instagram. You’ll find a option called hide story from, so you need to select all your list off all over so that no one will be able to see your posted story. but this method doesn’twork if you have huge number of followers for example 1 million.
Now we’ll see the second method: when posting is story you’ll see option called close friends at bottom. fear click on the top shell and choose your second account as your close friend. Today’s you only the person will be able to see the posted story. or you can just choose any one of your close friend as a close friend and post it story. Now after 24 hours you can set this story as highlights.
