I too face the same issue my Play Store has been disabled, and manually I reenable did and now play store is working fine for me. This could be the reason for you to do as you said your play store app is disappeared on your mobile.
Just to make sure that your Google Play Store is installed back to your Android mobile go to apps and notifications, and you need to click on three dots at right top corner and click on show system apps.
Once you click on show system apps he need to search for Google Play Store app and click on it.
Once you open the Play Store and just make sure it is not disabled. if it is disabled just enable it. Now Google play store app will be back on your Android mobile and now you can download apps as usual.
