   There are different types of programming languages. However, lets discuss the four main classification of programming languages.

   • OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE – This language helps to solve a particular problem and its aim is to think about the fault by separating it into a collection of objects that offers services which can be used to solve a specific problem. One of the main principle of this language is encapsulation that everything an object will need must be inside of the object.

    

   • FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE – It is a language where programs are constructed be applying and composing functions. Functional programming is used when solutions are easily expressed in functions and have little physical meaning. Each function takes in an input value and returns a consistent output value without altering or being affected by the program state.

    

   • PROCEDURAL PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE – This language is derived from imperative programming and contains a series of computational steps to be carried out. In procedural programming, programs are made up of procedures (routines) or subroutines or functions. Functions of procedural  language may control variables other than function’s value returns.

    

   • SCRIPTING PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE – A scripting language is a programming language that is interpreted and is a series of commands that are able to be executed without the need of compiling. All scripting languages are programming languages but all programming languages are not scripting languages. Examples are Python, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, and Ruby are some of the scripting languages.

   However, apart from this there are other languages also.
