By deleting your instagram account, All the direct messages (DM) which you sent to others, wont be deleted. Instead your name will gets deleted. I mean your profile ID and name gets deleted.
So other person will see something like, deleted user or instagram user, when they open your conversation(all text conversation will remain there). So my answer for “does deleting your instagram account delete direct messages to others” is Big No. And many asking as why won’t instagram let me delete a dm conversation You can read that too.
