To set sound notifications when you receive a new email on gmail, Login to your gmail account. Now click on Settings Gear Icon and then click on “See all settings“, as shown in the below image.
Once you click, all settings and under General settings scroll down and click on Desktop notifications. If notifications are turned off, Turn on Gmail Desktop notifications. And You need to click on the link, to allow notifications from gmail. Follow in the below shown image.
As you observe in the above image, click on “Click Here to enable desktop notifications for gmail”. Once you click on that you will see a pop up asking permission. Click on Allow notifications, and scroll to bottom and save changes. You may read how to remove gmail profile picture completely to no picture.
