file not supported when im trying to set whatsapp status how to fix

I downloaded a youtube short video,which is actually a song clip,and when im trying to keep it as my whatsapp status it is saying “file not supported”,how can i fix this error in whatsapp status?

    1. Hello,

      Most probably you are adding a file which is unsupported by WhatsApp at the moment. You will have to convert it into some common file formats.

      • Open File Explorer and locate the unsupported file.
      • Change the extension of the file to some common format like .mp3 for audio and .mp4 for video. (If your default File Explorer doesn’t have this feature then download ES File Explorer)
      • Add it to your WA status. It’ll work.

      Yes if you face like “File not supported on whatsapp status”, You can fix this whatsapp status error,  by changing that video format into MP4 format. Open the chrome browser on your mobile and search for mp4 converter in google.

      Now for example a site like https://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-mp4 and upload that particular video which you are getting file not supported in WhatsApp status. And click on start conversion, once it is converted to Mp4, download and upload as status. By doing this, file not supported error will be fixed. See how to set youtube video as whatsapp status.

    3. To see something like file not supported when trying to set WhatsApp status. It’s definitely due to the video formats what you are trying to set as WhatsApp status.

      I tried with .MP4 format, and for images at tried PNG.

      After that file not supported error on WhatsApp status got fixed.
